19 Things I've Learned in 19 Years

1. Worrying is useless

Hunny, if only I could go back in time. Just relax. Deep breaths really do help.

2. Be grateful for what you have

Something I started working more on in 2017 was being more grateful. Grateful for the food I had, grateful for my health, for my family and friends, for the colors of the sky when the sunset...all these little things I took for granted most of my life.

3. Do something that builds a better you everyday

Nobody claps for you on your bad days. Clap for yourself. Be your own biggest supporter! Keep growing and trying new things! A better version of you is waiting... maybe even minutes away. Add on those extra weights, stop smoking so much, and don’t drink just cause your friends are, hangovers aren’t worth it.

4. Lose that ego sweetie

Coming from a Leo, I know how hard it can be but...nobody cares about how much better you are at something. And ladies, life is not a competition. Stop trying to win the guy like your life depends on it.

5. Health is important

I cannot stress this enough. Please eat your fruits and your vegetables. Cut back on dairy. Drink your water. Exercise. Just do it. You’ll thank me later.

6. Give back

Nothing is better than helping others. Nothing.

7. Create your goals

Goals help you become who you want to be. Without them, you have nothing to work for. And without something to work for, you have nothing to get out of bed in the morning for. Last year was one of my lowest times, and you know what? As soon as I set a goal, my life suddenly didn't seem so dark.

8. Don’t let others create your life

YOU are the only one who decides what you do with your life. Don’t wait for the right time, or the perfect opportunity. NOW is the right time. CREATE the perfect opportunity. Sometimes listening to your parents just leads you to a pile of university debt and nothing to show for it because you dropped out... Only you know what’s best for you.

9. Follow your passion

Like I said before, decide how your own life will be! Follow your passion and if you play your cards right, It’ll become your career. (I’ll be writing an article about passion soon!)

10. Be excited—who cares what other people think

People who don’t care about anything are boring. Seriously. If one more guy send me a message that says “i don’t care, whatever you want” I might give up on guys completely...actually that sounds a good idea. More time to be enthusiastic about what I want to do with my time!

11. Focus on relationships

And by relationships, I mean the ones that are gonna last forever. I suggest starting with yourself. Nobody is around you more than you! After that, create meaning relationships with a friends.

12. Try new things

People who don’t try new things...why? You could find so many new things you love! Listen to a new type of music, try a new food, try painting, try playing an instrument. There are so many thing you could end up loving!

13. Invest in yourself

You are with you 24/7 for the rest of your life. Invest in your skin (it’s worth it), invest in your clothes, invest in your personality.

14. Build a supportive team around you

My support team are my friends. Wouldn't be here without them. You know who you are.

15. Follow your dreams no matter what

Dreams are what keep us going. I read somewhere that goals are just dreams that have a date. I like the way that sounds

16. Always forgive yourself and others

Girl, let that shit go. We’re all just living and learning...what more is there to say?

17. Don’t let failure hold you back

Like I said, we’re all learning. Learning helps us grow. Don’t stop growing.

18. Continue to learn

Life really begins once you get out of high school. Seriously. Leave it all behind and never look back.

19. Love life

You only get one. And It’s truly amazing.
